It should correspond to the settlement of Vitiliano, a parish dating from 1217 and possibly to a settlement mentioned even earlier as belonging to the abbey of Sestinga. The presence of a stone tower on the hill demonstrates theat the parish was fortified. The structure dates from the 13th century.
